What Climbing to
Success Means
To me, “Climbing to Success” means that every child can climb the ladder. Some just need to take a different path or move at their own pace. And that’s okay. I’m here to help them climb with confidence, support, and tools that actually work.
Each scholar begins their journey with a simple reading assessment so we can meet them exactly where they are. From there, we build upward, step by step, until they’re reading fluently and proudly.
Why I Do This
My goal is simple: I want every child I work with to succeed. I want to see their faces light up when they realize, “I can read that!” The excitement, the pride, the breakthrough moment - that’s what fuels this work.
I knew this was my calling the day I met an 8th grader who couldn’t read basic CVC words. We worked together, slowly and consistently, and I’ll never forget the moment he read with confidence for the first time. That moment changed both our lives.

Hi, I'm Debby.
I started Climbing to Success because I’ve seen far too many students - especially in the intermediate grades - struggling to read even simple words. That struggle doesn’t come from a lack of intelligence or potential. It comes from fear, frustration, and not having the right support.
That’s where I come in.
My goal is to change the way students learn to read by removing the pressure and bringing in play. I believe learning can be joyful, and that playing as you learn is one of the most powerful, fear-free ways to grow.
